Long Range Plans

Please refer to the long range plans below to get a basic outline of my 7th and 8th grade ELA classes. I will have copies available at open house and in the first weeks of school.



Mrs. Coburn—7th Grade Language Arts Long-Range Plan
This long-range plan is to make you aware of subject areas and projects we will concentrate on each nine weeks.  Adaptations may occur due to student proficiency or time constraints.  Specific directions and deadlines for projects will be handed out in class.

Centers: Students will participate in cooperative learning groups in order to practice reading, writing and language skills
Curricular goals – figurative language, theme, narratives, character traits, story elements and summaries
Independent conferences on content and comprehension
Daily Warm Ups - Grammar (parts of speech, clauses, phrases and sentences) Spelling, and vocabulary. Vocabulary will be domain specific Tier III and High Utility Tier II.
Narrative Writing-drafting, editing.
Analyze traits of writing
Quick writes and short writing on demand prompts
